Maona is a type of vessel, that could be easily described as the “trailer”. Its a vessel without its own propulsion – normaly it is towed by another ship. It is used for transportation of different cargo.
Also “Maona Rossa” is a “trailer” or a barge. It was sunk during the WW2. It was probably hit by an underwater mine – around the barge, 3 other mines are easy to see.

It is sunk between Savudrija and Piran – heading direction Piran. Inside, it it still full of cargo – probably bauxite.

The dive is ideal for wreck diver specialty, becouse the penetration is easy and the maximum depth is 21 meters. Access is by boat – and can be connected on a buoy, that is connected to the barge deck – so no anchoring neccesary.
Especially in hidden parts of the wreck is a big possibility, that you might find a Lobster (Homarus gammarus) or a Conger eel (Conger conger).
The visibility varies between 2 and 15 meters – the best is in winter months.
